Conversations, Fascinations

Communication is key...

We talk for a number of reasons:

We want to be heard, understood, pined over, cared about, to express ourselves, to share, to teach.

In this day and age, it's not hard to find someone who will give away their whole life story in the time it takes to brush the plaque from your molars. I for one, am a person who learned that listening is far more effective than speaking ever will be. The Alpha will always try to overthrow the Beta and Omega in a chain of command, they like to overtake the competition, swiftly climbing to the top of the social structure.

Personally, I wouldn't consider myself an Alpha male, as I tend to spend loads of time listening to others than preaching/ dictating. Mostly I will ask questions if I am unsure or leave me to my own devices and I will research a topic enough so I never need ask another person about it again. You will learn nothing by being closed minded and disallowing yourself from connecting to the world around you.

How would you describe your conversations? Do they tend to be short and sweet or can they extend to the early hours of the morning? Do they contain loads of filler or are they an information super-highway sandwich?
Do you feel you are good at engaging others or do you feel people are less associative with you?

If you can see what I did there... I used an open question and added a few closed questions in for good measure. The hows, wheres, whys, whens, whats are the meat to the convo baguette and the questions which force a "yes" or "no" answer are the salad. Unless you are vegan, I'm guessing you prefer meat, right?

Again, closed question, nevertheless one that makes you think, albeit briefly! Put simply, imagine yourself visiting your local car dealership, did you notice how on point the salesperson came across? It's because he/she was able to "probe" your mind and ultimately ascertain your "needs". Making you think it was your idea you drove away with a car you couldn't afford, but he/she made you believe that you could. This is because good salespeople know what makes good conversation. At the top of my game, I used to flog life insurance and home insurance like nobodies business. I studied the products. Studied the art of persuasive suggestion, I related to and tapped in to a customers emotions. Not through Malice, mainly through Pusha T (bad music pun I can tell!).

Is this piece of writing a conversation or a soliloquy? How much is monosyllabic and does the iambic pentameter come in to play within the right sectors or not? Who knows?

At the end of the day. ASK QUESTIONS!
